A wedding venue set within Richmond Park

One of the things couples mention most about Pembroke Lodge is the setting itself. You’re not just hiring a venue; you’re stepping into Richmond Park, the largest of London’s Royal Parks, with open space, ancient trees, and wide-reaching views that change with the seasons.

It’s a big part of what makes this feel different from a typical London venue. You get nature, space, and scenery, all in one place.

The gardens around Pembroke Lodge

Right around Pembroke Lodge you’ll find landscaped gardens that feel calm and easy to walk through on the day. This is where most couples naturally end up for photographs, because everything is close by and nothing feels forced.

The grounds include beautiful locations such as the Formal Rose Garden, the John Beer Laburnum Walk and King Henry VIII’s Mound, each offering a unique backdrop for wedding photography.

There are open lawns, tree-lined paths, and little pockets of greenery that work well for both group shots and quieter moments between the two of you.

It’s not overly designed or formal; it just works naturally around the flow of a wedding day.

The wider park setting

Step beyond the grounds of the Lodge and you’re straight into Richmond Park itself.

It’s 2.500 hectares are a unique blend of ancient woodlands, rolling hills and rare lowland acid grassland.

Depending on the time of year, you might also see the park’s famous deer, which adds something quite special without it feeling staged or planned.

Photography in the grounds

One of the biggest benefits of the location is that you don’t need to travel anywhere for your photos. Everything is already here.

From the terrace views to the woodland edges and open parkland, photographers have plenty to work with without taking you away from your guests for long periods. With so many beautiful backdrops close by, photographs can be captured naturally throughout the day, making the most of every moment.

Seasonal changes

The grounds change a lot depending on the season. Spring and summer bring colour and long evenings, autumn gives warm tones across the park, and winter has a quieter, more atmospheric feel with crisp views across the valley.

Each season brings its own version of the same setting, which is why the venue never really feels the same twice.

A peaceful setting, close to London

You’re just a short journey from central London and Heathrow. It’s one of the reasons couples choose the venue, offering peaceful parkland and stunning scenery while still being easy for guests to reach. It feels wonderfully secluded, yet remains incredibly well connected.
